A little bit local, a lot of success as Vancouver filmmaker takes top prize
Last night the Osoyoos Celebrity Wine Festival kicked off with “The Vinos”, the worlds first wine commercial film festival and “A Little More Local” by Vancouver filmmakers, Barbara Kozicki, Fiona Mongillo, and Charles Hefferman took the top prize. Over 30 entries were submitted and 2nd prize went to “Half Corked” by Ashley Forshaw & Tibor Farkas. Third prize was “With BC Wine We Are Kings” by Adrian Talens & Mark Armstrong.
“We based the idea on Osoyoos Larose as it is our favourite wine,” says Barbara Kozicki, “We were thrilled that judges picked us as it was very competitive. All entries were really good.”
Held at the Watermark Beach Resort, “The Vinos”, was a red carpeted awards ceremony and contest for the best wine commercial on B.C. Wines. Amateur and professional filmmakers submitted entries and competed for $5000 in cash and wine. Submissions were 60-90 second videos of the filmmakers’ favourite BC winery.
“The wine commercial contest was a first for the Osoyoos Celebrity Wine Festival and we were delighted to receive so many great entries,” say Glenn Fawcett, co-founder of the Osoyoos Celebrity Wine Festival, “‘The Vinos’ was a great success and will definitely be back and part of next year’s festival.”
