It takes two to tango. That’s why we have wines from two different Argentinian wineries to celebrate the start of our new tasting season! Along with this we have Celeste Pesce, the assistant wine maker and export manager for La Posta winery to speak to us this evening. Our members and guests enjoy hearing the stories from wine makers abroad. This evening should be no exception. Come listen to the tales from Argentina.
Argentina is the 5th largest wine producer in the world, and their wines are slowly reaching BC. Luca is the name of the winery by Laura Catena who is the daughter of the world renowned Nicolas Catena. Representing the “next generation” in a great winemaking dynasty, Laura tackles it with skill and vigour. Mindful of tradition but fearless in her pursuit of what’s next, she is definitely a young woman revolutionizing the Argentine wine industry!
La Posta has found a handful of grape growers whose vineyards have been truly amazing year in, year out in Menodoza. They salute the hard work and skill of the Pizzella Family, Estela Armando and Angel Paulucci by offering these vineyard-designated releases made solely with their special grapes.
We hope you like big red wines as these will wow you. All are rated between 88 and 93 points by Wine Spectator. For those that haven’t tried the signature grape of Argentina, we have two excellent Malbecs for you.
