VANCOUVER’S BIGGEST PATIO TO POP UP AT BC PLACE FOR LONG WEEKENDS THIS SUMMER
The 1,000-capacity patio will showcase local live entertainment, food and drinks.
Vancouver, BC – There is a new way to celebrate Vancouver’s best months this summer. For the first time, BC Place, Western Canada’s largest multi-purpose event venue, is opening the city’s largest licensed outdoor patio at Terry Fox Plaza with a capacity for over 1,000 guests.
The pop-up patio will be hosted on the long weekends in July, August, and September. It will feature the best local musical talent, various social-worthy food and drinks, and an outdoor space perfect for summer get-togethers. Entry is free and is open to guests of all ages.
“At BC Place, we are all about bringing people together. This summer, we’ll be extending the vibrant and entertaining atmosphere we’re known for by creating our special event, The Patio, to bring together our community,” says Chris May, GM of BC Place. “We’re incredibly proud of how we continue to transform our space into an engaging place where memories and connections are made.”
To kick off the series, The Patio at BC Place will be transformed into Vancouver’s most enormous backyard patio for the long weekend of July.
Limited edition food and drink menu details:
- The patio will offer a variety of food and drink stations, including a menu inspired by Indigenous cuisine, a night market, a grill and smokehouse, Canadian desserts, and a build-your-own Caesar Bar.
- From backyard BBQ-inspired bites like Oh Canada Smoked Brisket Sandwich to show-stopping innovative items like Tempura Maple Gelato, there will be a wide variety of options to satisfy all taste buds.
- Indigenous dishes, including Salmon Bannock Burger, Bison Slider and Candied Salmon, were created in collaboration with Chef Andrew George.
- Guests will enjoy a variety of limited edition menu items at great value, distinct from the existing BC Place menu.
Live entertainment features include:
- A live entertainment stage will showcase music from local talents, including Marie Hui, DJ Christina Sing, Antonio Larosa, NaRai Dawn, and more.
- For those looking for some friendly competition, rotating lawn games, including mini putt, corn hole, giant Jenga, and Connect Four, will be available.
- Anyone visiting The Patio at BC Place over the July long weekend can win two tickets to The Rolling Stones Hackney Diamonds tour at BC Place on July 5, 2024.

Enjoying The Patio at BC Place is simple—entry to the pop-up patio on Terry Fox Plaza is free and on a first-come, first-served basis. The best entrance point is by Gates A and H. As parking will be limited, guests are encouraged to take public transportation.
- Canada Day long weekend: June 28th to July 1st from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
