Join the BCWAS for a very special evening, featuring winemaker Sandra Oldfield and a 12-year vertical tasting of Tinhorn Creek’s award-winning Cabernet Franc! This is a unique event in the history of BCWAS tastings – they’ve never done a vertical like this before.
What’s a vertical tasting? It is where lucky people like you get to taste several vintages of the same wine at one sitting. For this one, Sandra is opening her cellars and pulling out 12 years of her Cabernet Franc, from 1996-2007. We’ll get to taste how the different weather conditions affected each vintage, and how other factors like the age of the vines, the amount of oak, and the size of the harvest change the wine in your glass.
“In its native Bordeaux, Cabernet Franc has always been cast as a poor cousin, neither as concentrated as Cabernet Sauvignon nor as elegant as Merlot. But here in the South Okanagan, Cabernet Franc is often the star, combining intense herbal aromas with rich plum and berry fruit flavours. Our 2007 is the most delicious Cabernet Franc we have ever made. We think you will enjoy it just as much as we do.”— from Tinhorn’s website.
Come on out and taste for yourself!
