Beauty Musts For The Holiday Season

How to Get Through the Season Beautifully – My Beauty Picks

make up

As I write this I seem to be breaking out in some type of rash! This time of year seems to be cruel to me as there’s lots of stress, lots of going out, lots of later nights than usual and a real need to look my best, when I feel at my worst. Here’s a few things I’ve rounded up that are keeping me together when it comes to beauty.

face atelier

1 – Face Atelier Ultra Camouflage Duo – Right now I seem to look and feel tired and have a lot more redness that needs to be concealed, so I’ve been relying on this to cover up my rosacea, the odd outbreak and those wonderful dark circles under my eyes. Made in Canada $35.

eufora

2 – Eufora Conceal and Tame – I’ve got a lot to hide this time of year it seems, and I’m not just talking presents. This concealer is actually a light weight temporary root touch up powder and blends in to hide unwanted greys in between root touch ups. I can’t always get to the hairdresser. Pat on to your head with the brush and then spray with their tame hairspray.

3 – Joanna Keller Eyelash Extensions and make-up application– Can’t tell you how much I love have lash extensions, and getting them done in this stylish room by the kind folks at Joanna Keller Beautique on Pender is actually relaxing. AND I never relax. (more on this boutique soon in a full post) They also did my makeup before my appearance on Global TV too and I was super pleased.

apothekari

4 – Apothekari Body Scrub – The new Lemon Verbena Sugar Body Polish has a bright, aromatic citrus scent for a little aromatherapeutic while you bath.  Take some time to relax and end up with super smooth skin without the grease.

5 – Charlotte Tilbury Matte Lipstick Red Carpet Red – This is a must for those party nights out. I am in desperate need of filler and it’s just not in the cards right now, but this lipstick plumps and hydrates and makes me feel a little bit better about my thin lips!

6 – Exquis Nails Mani and Pedi – This isn’t the fanciest place to get your nails done, but they are clean, fast and their manicures last. As long as you wear dish gloves and don’t pick the polish off (speaking to myself of course here). Cheaper on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 1932 Broadway W (604) 731-4599.

7 – Blow Out’s at Rush Salon with Stacey – Lucky for me these folks are right across the street on Arbutus and 11th and she keeps my hair on point (when I get the time to go!).  I get my colour and cuts here too. 2652 Arbutus Street (778) 379-9505
