Tastes Like Summer

Vancouver, BC… Summer has officially arrived at The Bins and with their outstanding selection of wines by the glass and micro-brews there is something to quench every thirst.  New at Bin 942, and just in time for the summer season, are “Talk Tales” – a Bin-style spin on cocktails. Created using Hangar One boutique distilled vodka, drop by and taste these soon-to-be favourites. Try the Cool Hand Cuke (fresh cucumber, basil, mint, lemon), Who’s Your Devil (fresh watermelon, thai chile and citrus) or Pina Fresca (kaffir lime vodka, fresh pineapple juice, ginger of the Indies), $9 each.  Other popular choices, available at both Bin 941 and 942, include the renowned “Bingria” ($9) and “Binlini” ($10).

To suit the season, Chef/Owner Gord Martin has not only updated the drinks, but also the food at Bin 941 and 942 Tapas Parlours. While a few long-time Bin favourites remain, a host of new dishes now shine brightly on the menu page.  Be sure to check out the fresh fare including the Bin Picnic, selected artisan cheeses & cured meats, served on grilled flat bread, summer fruits and vegetables a la grec at Bin 941, and Fresh Pacific Halibut, smoked halibut croquette, salad of vine ripened sungold tomatoes, summer bean salad, yam chips, umeboshi plum vinaigrette at Bin 942.  Or sample a few pinxos from the always fresh and ever changing menu, each plate affordably priced at $5. Also new this summer, look for satays appearing soon at a Bin near you, each one uniquely marinated and served with spiced cilantro syrup, banana leaf steamed rice and exotic fruit, $10

A repertoire of tapas-inspired small, affordable sharing plates, sexy desserts, artisan cheeses, a superb array of wines by the glass, select premium spirits and local micro-brewed beers make it easy to sample a variety of tastes. Bin 941 Tapas Parlour is located at 941 Davie Street; Bin 942 is located at 1521 West Broadway.  Seating is first-come, first-served. The Bins are open from 5:00pm to 2:00am daily (midnight on Sundays), indulging early diners and late-night cravings.
