Café de Chinitas – Mozaico Flamenco forms a six-dancer troupe with two of Madrid’s cutting edge flamenco dancers from the most avant-garde companies today, Ricardo Lopez and Emilio Ochando. With the male dancers playing jealous rivals for Maria, played by Kasandra “La China”, Café de Chinitas explores the power and variety of human emotions surrounding love: jealousy, sorrow, confusion, pain, anger and joy. Gaspar Rodriguez is the special guest musical director from Spain, joining with Vancouver’s Orchid Ensemble for a west-meets-east experience.
