Campagnolo, opened just last December, rapidly rose to one of the top Italian dining spots in Vancouver. Now, it’s rapidly risen to one of the world’s top “50 Amazing New Restaurants”, as listed by none other than Conde Nast Traveler.
The world’s premier travel magazine, Conde Nast Traveler upholds the standards for exclusive, authoritative reporting on travel tips, vacation ideas, destination information and more. The Spring 2009 edition raves about Chef Alvin Pillay’s “home-made salumi, excellent pastas…and deceptively simple thin-crusted pizzas.” Campagnolo is the only Vancouver restaurant to be featured, and one of only two restaurants in Canada to be included. Owners and savvy restaurateurs Tim Pittman, Tom Doughty and Robert Belcham are truly honoured to receive such incredible recognition.
The news arrives on the heels of Campagnolo and Fuel Restaurant Co-Owner and Executive Chef Robert Belcham’s Chef of the year award at the 20th Annual Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards. One of the most high profile categories presented at Vancouver Magazine’s coveted annual awards, Chef of the Year has been awarded to chefs now recognized for helping mould the Vancouver culinary industry, including Pino Posteraro and David Hawksworth. Chef Belcham now joins the prestigious who’ s who of British Columbia’s most well regarded chefs.
Campagnolo buzzes with activity and laughter. Though spacious and open, the atmosphere is warm and intimate in the 65-seat open dining room and beautiful, 25-seat wine bar. Campagnolo serves affordable, casual Italian dining in a warm and welcoming space. Campagnolo is open for lunch seven days a week from 11:30am – 2:30pm, and dinner nightly from 5pm. Seating is available on a first come first serve basis, and reservations are available only for parties of eight or more. Campagnolo is located at 1020 Main Street, Vancouver BC.
