On Friday, May 14th, Well Seasoned gourmet food store and cooking school will welcome Ted Reader, Canada’s “King of Q” for a night of burgers, barbecue and book signing. Reader will be in town as part of a cross Canada tour to promote his new cookbook, Napoleon’s Everyday Gourmet Burgers which he kicked off last week with a record breaking feat. On Wednesday, May 5th, Reader broke the Guinness Book of World Records for the heaviest burger in the world. His mega burger tipped the scales at a whopping 268 kilograms, erasing the previous record of 84 kilograms.
Reader is an award-winning chef and food entertainer, whose passion for food has earned him more than a dozen cookbooks, his own line of food products, live culinary performances, TV and radio appearances, a catering company, and ongoing instructional opportunities. Ted’s quest for creating “real food for real people” has seen this high profile culinary barbecue guru demonstrate his flair for grilling in a range of venues, from swanky ball rooms to the Pacific Ocean to a downtown Toronto parking lot. Today, he owns more than 100 barbecues, grills and smokers in all shapes and sizes and never goes anywhere without one in the back of his truck.
During Reader’s visit to Well Seasoned in Langley, he’ll share some of his favourite hamburger recipes from his new cookbook and demonstrate how to prepare and present the ultimate burgers. Seats are still available for this exclusive cooking class. A pre-class meet and greet and book signing will be held from 6:00-6:30 pm and is free and open to the public.
