Marking Company’s 35th Anniversary
De Dutch Pannekoek House Restaurants Inc. is delighted to announce the opening of its newest location in Vancouver, British Columbia in the coming week at West 2nd Avenue and Yukon Street. This restaurant is the second new location to open this year and is the first new restaurant to open in Vancouver in 15 years marking the company’s 35th anniversary and celebrating the opening of its very first location in Vancouver on Knight Street and King Edward in 1975.
De Dutch President Bill Waring states, “We are so pleased to celebrate our 35th anniversary with our newest restaurant opening in Vancouver, the city where it all began in 1975! Our franchisees for this location, Alan and Delene George have been members of the De Dutch system for 13 years operating the very successful Oak Street and 16th Avenue location in Vancouver. We have together been looking for the perfect location for a second restaurant for them and finally found it! Our newest restaurant is located in the perfect community and we have received a hearty welcome already. With Alan and Delene’s long time experience as De Dutch franchisees who have won several awards for their outstanding service and overall high level of operations, we couldn’t be happier to celebrate this newest venture with them.”
The new De Dutch is located at 410 West 2nd Avenue, Vancouver, BC, phone: 604.569.0477. It is open between Monday and Friday from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. While reservations are not accepted, guests can contact Alan George directly to make special bookings for large parties.
Sales for the De Dutch system have shown growth in BC since the franchise was founded in 1975 and even with the economic challenges of the past year, current members of the franchise are optimistic of solid growth in the future leading to their increased investment in the franchise. The next new De Dutch restaurant located in Columbia Square in New Westminster, BC is scheduled to open this June by new De Dutch franchisees, Marie and Tandrea Jang who are currently in training.
The thirty-five year old De Dutch franchise with 19 locations in BC’s Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Fraser Valley, Okanagan, and Cariboo has successfully carved a niche in the competitive food service industry. While offering dinner at its Strawberry Hill location, De Dutch Pannekoek House specializes in breakfast, brunch and lunch, offering their customers a unique blend of European ethnicity in its menu items. The Pannekoek, a 12″ in diameter Dutch-style pancake, is their signature dish and continues to draw loyal customers.
