Vancouver’s own celebrity chef Vikram Vij will conjure up a one-time-only four course meal for guest of honour Sanjeev Kapoor. Sanjeev Kapoor is the much beloved and award-winning chef responsible forKhana Khazana, the longest running cookery show in India, broadcast in over 120 countries. He is credited with transporting Indian cuisine into the limelight, highlighting the artistry and nutrition that goes into the preparation of each dish. No stranger to Canadian gourmets, Vikram Vij is best known for his acclaimed Vij’s restaurant – recently nominated as No. 1 in Canada (across all cusine types). Masterfully fusing traditional recipes with innovative contemporary twists, Vikram has created a unique space for himself, gaining the respect of fellow chefs such as Anthony Bourdain.
For a week before Dinner by Starlight, Vikram Vij will take Sanjeev Kapoor on a culinary road-trip across British Columbia, showing him the efforts and achievements of the Indo-Canadian community in BC, from the blueberry farms of the Fraser Valley, to the vineyards of the Okanagan. The menu for the dinner will pay tribute to the fruits of the community’s labour, and the magical combination of India and British Columbia.
Only 120 guests will experience this evening, featuring two of the best-regarded food magicians that India has produced.
Expect the finest South Asian-inspired food and drink at a spectacular (and secret) venue with inspired performances and Q&A between celebrity chefs Vikram Vij and Sanjeev Kapoor.
The secret location will to be revealed to ticket holders only a few days in advance.
