About Driftwood
Driftwood launched in the fall of 2008, in the worst recession this country has seen for 60 years. Brewmaster Jason Meyer went ahead anyway because he knew that Driftwood beers had something to prove. He was right and the brewery has been lauded as an up-and-comer BC brewery. In 2011, Driftwood was voted BC brewery of the year, and every single beer since has won a Gold or Silver medal. Driftwood’s Fat Tug IPA went on to win the “Beer of the Year” at the 2011 Canadian Brewing Awards, the largest awards ceremony for beer in Canada. “We were so happy to win gold for the IPAcategory, but to walk away with the top prize was amazing, we felt pretty humbled by that one, we are just nine people, but we are fanatical on great beer.”
