Feast of Fields A Wet But Tasty Day at UBC Farm
This past Sunday we ventured out to UBC to soak in Feast of Fields (pun intended), and despite the rain, the chefs and drink providers were all smiles. We got pretty wet, so didn’t stay as long as we usually do, but we left having tried some great dishes and a few new brews as well.
Kiki’s Kitchen, purveyors of vegan soups, served up some grilled zucchini with cauliflower bolognese.
Excellent pate from Nomad on Main.
Chicken liver mousse atop plums from Vancouver Island’s Wickannish Inn
Fable went the veggie root with beets and cashew cream.
Colette Grand’s sliders were almost a whole meal!
Lamb Tacos from Showcase at Marriott served up our pal Brian Giesbrecht’s first of the season lamb.
Chef Jo Ong from Mosaic Grille at the Hyatt Regencey gets my vote for best dish, a cassoulet, topped with crispy duck skin.
JamJar falefel with deep fried cauliflower. Need to get to their new location on South Granville! Great dish, but they did the same thing last year.
Finishing off the seafood shells from ARC at the Fairmont Waterfront.
All smiles from TJ Conwi of Ono Vancouver. Pickled veggies and peameal bacon.
Peacock and Martin wine merchants with Elephant Island and Lake Breeze wines.
Finished off with some Persephone beer.
