Frankie’s Italian Kitchen & Bar has quietly opened its doors this past month having taken over the space formerly occupied by The William Tell and Beatty Street Bar & Grille. More than just the perfect location for grabbing a bite before the big game and celebrating a win afterwards, Frankie’s wants to become the neighbourhood restaurant of choice.
And the food! If you like Italian, you will love Frankie’s menu. Tasty hand-stretched pizzas with dough made fresh in the kitchen daily, an impressive selection of pasta dishes featuring both house-made pastas and traditional dried pastas, hearty entrées, stuffed Italian ciabatta sandwiches, big salads, healthy soups, traditional Italian antipasto platters. A fantastic selection of crowd-pleasing plates, both big and small.
Frankie’s also takes pride in its extensive and value-priced wine list, with over 25 bottles available for $40 or less. The wine list focuses on great Italian picks spanning Sicily to Venice and the best of the Okanagan Valley, as well as some new world winners and old world classics.
Chef Luigi Ornaghi heads up the kitchen at Frankie’s where he is bringing his brand of authentic, Northern Italian cuisine to the fortunate diners at the brand new Downtown Vancouver location of Frankie’s Italian Kitchen & Bar. Ornaghi has over 30 years experience as both chef and owner from kitchens throughout Northern Italy, the French Riviera and most recently the United States. The affable chef is a new arrival in Canada, he speaks four languages and has studied and taught at culinary schools throughout Piedmont, Italy. He is also the recipient of accolades from the Chaine des Rotisseurs in Italy and Australia as well as other global gastronomic associations.
Comfortable and welcoming, Frankie’s offers three distinct spaces for a number of dining experiences and social gatherings, inviting guests to plan a night out or ‘come as you are’ – everyone gets treated like a regular! Families, groups, couples and even corporate gatherings will get in the convivial Italian spirit of family, food and fun.
