Giffard Iron Mixologist Competition Names Justin Tisdall & Danielle Tatarin to Represent Canada in France in 2010

Giffard, France’s makers of fine liqueurs and syrups, is pleased to announce that Justin Tisdall of Market by Jean-Georges and Danielle Tatarin of Lumière and DB Bistro Moderne have won the 3rd annual Iron Mixologist Challenge.

The Iron Mixologist competition was held on Monday, October 5th 2009 at The Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver.  Over 20 competitors prepared and presented original cocktails they had created specifically for the event.

Each bubbly cocktail was required to include Giffard’s Abricot du Roussillon & Charles Meunier, but competitors were encouraged to be imaginative and innovative when creating their unique drinks.  A panel of six judges consisting of three media members and three Mixologists presided at the event.

Sean Soole of Chilled Magazine along with Sherif Ahmed and Christa Frosch of Nons Drinks awarded the title of 2009 Iron Mixologist to Justin Tisdall of Market Restaurant for his cocktail named The Apricot Horizon and Danielle Tatarin of Lumière and DB Bistro Moderne for her cocktail named Fleur du Roussillon Fizz.

Both competition winners will be flown to France to represent Canada at Giffard’s International Mixologists Competition in late May 2010.  For recipes and pictures from the competition please contact Dana Lee Harris at the numbers below.
