Granville Island Brewing’s craft Pumpkin Ale

Best Use of Pumpkin

Watching the colours change in the fall is one of the perks of living on the West Coast and Granville Island Brewing (GIB) celebrates this transition with its eagerly anticipated Pumpkin Ale. Available starting September 19, this dark orange, warm, spicy brew is the perfect brew to toast another great West Coast season ahead.

“Pumpkin ale captures all of what Vancouverites love about fall,” says Vern Lambourne, Granville Island Brewing’s brewmaster. “This untraditional ale is definitely a reflection of autumn’s changing landscape with its signature burnt orange colour. It also smells just like my fall favourite – fresh pumpkin pie! We roast fresh pumpkins with dashes of nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves to create that warm, lingering finish that complements a hearty fall meal.”

The earthy undertones of Pumpkin Ale add a unique flavour to the roast meats and hearty vegetables such as beets, carrots and parsnips. For a truly memorable meal, pair a pint of Pumpkin Ale with roast pork tenderloin, rich gravy and all the fixings: mashed potatoes, winter vegetable salad and stuffing. Just be sure to stock up on extra bottles of Pumpkin Ale because your guests will definitely be asking for second and third helpings!

Pumpkin Ale is available in 650ml bottles ($5.50) for a limited time period while supplies last, so be sure to stock up while you can! Grab this fall classic in liquor stores and independent liquor shops across Vancouver and in GIB’s retail store and taproom on Granville Island.
