JAK’s Gives Back 10% of sales Vancouver Food Banks
Saturday, June 25, JAK’s will be donating 10% of sales from all 13 JAK’s locations and jaks.com to local food banks during their fourth annual JAK’s Gives Back program. Summer is the slowest time for food bank donations but the demand for their services continues to skyrocket to record levels. We ventured out to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank to check out the work they were up to and enjoy a meal catered by Chef Claire’s to help launch this yearly initiative.
“Summer is our busy season and it’s the most challenging time of year for our food banks, making it the best time to give back and raise a glass to our local food banks,” said Tim Dumas, Chief Operation Officer at JAK’s. “Our message is simple: join Jak’s in-store or online on June 25 to stock up on your favourite beverages and in doing so, help stock the shelves of your local food bank — there’s no catch.”
JAK’s donations will go to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, Saige Community Food Bank, Richmond Food Bank, SHARE Food Bank in Coquitlam, St. Joseph’s Food Bank in Mission, Salvation Army Food Bank in Penticton, and the Campbell River Food Bank.
We ventured out to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank to observe the fantastic work they are doing and to sample some of the excellent wines and spirits that they stock, some exclusive to Jak’s in BC.
Chef Claire’s prepared a fantastic meal with wine and spirits from Jak’s vendors.
We were so impressed with the organization of the warehouse and the passionate staff who toured us about it. The amount of food rescue they are assisting with is staggering!
It’s super easy to support the food banks June 25, just stock up on some liquor, or merely buy a bottle for your meal that day.
