Maestoso – Merlot 2007, Cases Produced: 213,Listed Price: $90
Maestoso or the Majestic. This is our flagship wine; the Jewel in the crown. In 2007 the fruit was harvested at less than 1 ton per acre. The slightly cooler growing season allowed for a wine that is lower in alcohol and higher in acidity compared to the 2006 vintage.
Pairing: When you have a wine this concentrated, look to foods that will balance the intensity and build on the complexity. Most game meats bring a level of savoriness this wine welcomes.
Allegretto – Pie Franco Merlot 2007, Cases Produced: 357, Listed Price: $45
This Merlot is what we call a true Merlot because it’s planted on its own rootstock (no grafting). In turn, there is a trueness and transparency in the flavors that come from this Merlot that we have not seen elsewhere. We also believe the white silica sandy soil of this vineyard, further contributes to the delicate and politeness of this wine.
Pairing: Allegreto isn’t about power, its about balance. There is a complexity that will really show when paired with soft flavorful meats like braised pork belly or slow cooked beef short ribs. Let earthy flavors like thyme, garlic and mushrooms extract some of the spice that is layered in this wine.
Vivace – Pinot Grigio 2009, Cases Produced: 590, Our Price: $25
Vivace or the joyous. While the cool 2008 growing season lead to a wine that expressed the essence of citrus fruit, the warmer 2009 vintage made for a slightly richer, and more tropical version. The nose opens into wonderful pure expression of apple and pear and will continue to build in complexity over the next couple years. A noticeable richness greets your palate and is focused with bright
Pairing: An intensely flavored goat cheese salad tossed in a caramelized onion vinaigrette will play on the levels of texture this wine expresses.
A fresh, zippy wine with characteristic lemon and lime aromas of pinot [grigio] infused with orange blossom, passion fruit and notes of tarragon. The palate has perfect balance, full and textural, yet finishing with mouth-watering acidity that carries the citrus and herb flavours all the way. Only 590 cases produced, and the distribution is limited. I would run – not walk – to pick up the phone or order online. If you’re in the neighborhood, drop by in person-the production facilities and tasting room are housed in a delightful new building . ~Bruce Lees ~Gogo Magazine May 7, 2009

Leggerrio – Un-Oaked Chardonnay 2009, Cases Produced: 450, Our Price: $25
Italian Chardonnay is famous from the cool climate region of Alto Adige. Almost always made in a Un-Oaked fashion, it is a wine that tries to express the pure minerality of the grape with beautiful acidity and soft fruit flavors. We sourced our Chardonnay from some of the oldest Chardonnay vines in the valley at nearly 40 years old from the Combret Vineyard on the Golden Mile. The 2009 Leggiero takes that Italian style and expresses an Un-Oaked BC Chardonnay in a manner that offers up soft apple, grapefruit, and cantaloupe balanced by natural minerality and wet stone flavors.
Pairing: To play off the complexity of flavors and textures, enjoy this wine with a variety of seafood dishes. From fresh BC oysters to Salt Spring Mussels steamed in a light lemon grass and ginger broth, or even some seared local rock cod topped with a fresh herb butter and squeeze of lemon.
