Les Dames d’Escoffier presents A Chefs’ Table Dine Around – Wednesday, August 14th This Wednesday the region’s largest concurrent dinner party takes place in twenty locations across BC. From Vancouver to Victoria, White Rock to Kelowna, over 20 restaurants, vineyards, gardens and cooking schools have donated one table of 4 to 8 seats and a multi course menu all paired with wines, donated by multiple wineries. For $69 guests can purchase a seat and take part in one of the most fun (and best value) culinary fundraisers of the year – the Les Dames d’Escoffier Dine Around.
Taking place on the same night (Wednesday, August 14th) at the same time (6:30 pm) for the same price ($69) restaurants offer up a set menu, highlighting their cuisine, all paired with wine. All guests have to do is choose the location. Tables may be in the dining room or may be in a very special location like the kitchen, wine room or vineyard. Choose a new restaurant or one of your favourites. Buy a couple of seats at the table, or take the entire table. Some venues have donated 4 seats, some 6, some 8. Participating Lower Mainland restaurants include Chambar, Hamilton Street Grill, Chef Scott Kidd’s new Canyon restaurant in North Vancouver and White Rock’s Uli’s’; Provence, Hart House, Nicli Antica Pizzeria, Chill Winston, Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts (PICA) and the much toted new Peruvian restaurant Chicha are some of the Vancouver restaurants. Picnics on the grass in VanDusen Botanical Gardens by Truffles Café include your blanket and in the Vineyards of Spierhead Winery in Kelowna dinner for four is catered by RauDZ Regional Table while Terrafina Restaurant at Oliver’s Hester Creek is guaranteed to offer patio dining. Victoria restaurants include The Fairmont Empress (4 seats), Camille’s at Bastion Square (8 seats) and new restaurant The Superior, donating 6 seats. All proceeds from the dinners, except the gratuity, are donated to Les Dames d’Escoffier, BC Chapter for scholarship and outreach funding including Project Chef and Growing Chef. Included in the nights festivities are raffle draws that include culinary baskets from Gourmet Warehouse, wine baskets from Town Hall Communications, $100 Gift Certificates to Vij’s, Gramercy Grill and Shaughnessy restaurant at VanDusen Gardens; cookbooks, chefs’ knives and cooking classes at the Dirty Apron, as well as two very special tickets to the Vancouver Island Feast of Fields, up for grabs in Victoria. An after party at Hamilton Street Grill in Yaletown provides the location for the raffle draw and a much deserved round of drinks for all the participating restaurants and chefs. Winning raffle ticket numbers will also be posted on the Les Dames web site and Facebook page Single and multiple tickets for the evening are available at http://lesdames.eventbrite.ca/
