Lookout Ridge: Making a Difference

Founded in 1988, Lookout Ridge Winery is located high up on the top of the Mayacamas Mountains overlooking the Sonoma and Napa Valleys. Its award-winning wines are produced in limited quantities and are not available in any retail outlets.

Gordon Holmes, founder of Lookout Ridge and publisher of The Gold Report, had a vision for the property and how he wanted to do things differently than other wineries. “I believe each winemaker has a particular passion for certain wines, and the method he or she uses to make that wine. I decided to build a “portfolio” of master winemakers, and I believe that’s what makes Lookout Ridge unique.”

California’s most recognized winemakers have teamed up with Lookout Ridge Winery to use their winemaking skills to donate wheelchairs to people in need of mobility. Over 150 million individuals worldwide are in need of a wheelchair but cannot afford one. You have the ability to change someone’s life instantly by supporting the Wines for Wheelchairs program.

Gordon Holmes achieved a dream with Lookout Ridge Winery. Now the Holmes’ are helping those without the resources to buy a wheelchair seeing as they can relate to the importance of mobility. Kari Holmes has been in a wheelchair for years due to Multiple Sclerosis. Seeing how a wheelchair impacted her life, they made a decision:

Lookout Ridge will donate a wheelchair to a BC citizen, in the name of every person who purchases a bottle of Current Release wine. He also started a non-profit Foundation to provide another philanthropic vehicle that funds The International Wheelchair Distribution Program.
