Campagnolo Restaurant is thrilled to welcome back their neighbours for the summer; the farmers and purveyors of The Main Street Station Farmers Market. The Main Street Station Market at Thornton Park opened on Wednesday, June 5. The market runs from 3PM until 7PM every Wednesday until October 2 and is located just steps away from Campagnolo Restaurant. The chefs from Campagnolo will be at the market every week picking the freshest ingredients of the day and creating Market Wednesday features, available for dinner service at Campagnolo Restaurant starting at 5pm.
In addition to the Market Wednesday features, Campagnolo has set up a stall at the market where they sell their house-made dried pasta. All proceeds from the pasta sales benefit Thunderbird Elementary School’s food program. There is no set price, allowing market shoppers to make a donation in exchange for a bag of pasta. Thunderbird Elementary School has a large number of students enrolled who come from low-income families in East Vancouver. Campagnolo hopes to bring awareness to the public that kids are going to school hungry in Vancouver communities and want to be a part of the solution through fundraising.
“Students should be able to focus on learning, not the rumbles of an empty stomach,” says Tim Pittman, Co-Proprietor and Operations Director of Campagnolo Restaurant. “With almost the entire student body participating in the program at Thunderbird Elementary, we saw a need and we found a way to help.”

About Vancouver Farmers Markets: Vancouver Farmers Markets (otherwise known as Your Local Farmers Market Society) is about people who love fresh food at festive gatherings. Through the Markets and our special events, the Society spreads awareness of agricultural issues facing our largely urban society. These issues range from the truths about genetically modified foods, to fair pricing for agricultural products, to the glory of a variety of foods available with a locally networked food system. When you shop at Vancouver Farmers Markets, you help keep BC farmers farming.
