A Barrel Drop, a Pig Roast and a Grand Opening indeed
July 16th was the official Poplar Grove Winery Grand Opening celebration.
To officially open the doors of the new winery, owner Ian Sutherland worked the forklift for the grand-opening barrel drop. Sutherland joked, “we hope that this will be the first & last barrel to ever drop at Poplar Grove!”
A special thank you to Chef Mark Filatow (Waterfront Bistro & Wine Bar/Details Catering) and his team for their culinary artistry.
Another big thank you to Peter and Heather Schnurr for spit-roasting us a pig!
And certainly a thank you to everyone who came and made the evening such a success, both our guests and our wonderful staff.
