New Zealand – home to Lord of the Rings, Flight of the Conchords, Crowded House and Pavlova – now brings you HELL…HELL Pizza to be exact.
With a menu based on the 7 Deadly Sins and pizzas delivered by hearse for special occasions or the right bribe, Vancouverites can expect a blast of infernal fun from HELL.
HELL Pizza boasts a 13-year tradition of “Damned Tasty Food” and almost 70 successful franchises in New Zealand, Australia, Ireland and the UK. Now, HELL promises to bring heaven to pizza lovers in Vancouver with the opening of its flagship North American store.
HELL Pizza was conceived and developed in New Zealand by three friends: The Unholy Trinity of Callum Davies, Stuart McMullin and Warren Powell, who continue to actively manage the brand, ensure the quality of product, and maintain the integrity (if there is such a thing in HELL) of the company’s concepts.
Pizzas come in two sizes, snack and double, at $8 and $16 respectively for basic pizzas, or $8.50 and $17 for more extravagant creations. Menu selections include Lust, the meat-lover’s pizza (made with any one of their four base sauces – try the smoky BBQ sauce if that is your thing); Pandemonium with chicken and camembert slashed with cranberry sauce; Purgatory, a vegetarian option with spinach, feta, mushrooms and garlic; or Sinister – the menu’s dark horse – a vegan pizza made with refried beans, avocado, peppers and jalapeno. For the little devils, there is the 333 – a snack pizza with one topping for $5. HELL offers two dessert pizzas, known as Unearthly and Temptation, one with custard, berries and chocolate, the other with apple, apricot and streusel crumble. All of their pizzas are available on gluten free crust.
In addition to a worldwide cult following and unique pizzas, HELL has a reputation for technological innovation in order processing and mobile payment, award-winning marketing campaigns, and owner-operated franchises to ensure the highest standards of quality and customer service. Oh, and don’t forget the pizza delivery boxes – complete with coffins to house your remains – that ensure your pizza will never show up soggy.
The gates to HELL will open any day now. Order takeout, ring for delivery, or eat on site; you’ll go for the pizza, and stay for the moody décor in your own little slice of HELL. The store, located at 1931 Lonsdale Avenue in North Vancouver, will be open for counter service and delivery from 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and until 11:00 pm on Friday and Saturday.
