Oyama Sausage St. Hubertus and Game Weekend

IMG_1416It may be okay for some to stick with pork, beef, turkey and chicken, but we prefer to get wild and add in a bit of game on our charcuterie platters and for our frequent sausage roasts!  Lucky for us it is St. Hubertus and Game Weekend at Oyama Sausage from Friday Dec. 6th-Sunday Dec. 8th .  We snuck down to Granville Island for a sampling today (pictured on the left) and ate almost a whole duck-worth of duck proscuitto.  There is still some left for you, however. 

St. Hubertus was the patron saint of the hunters and while we’d love to get out and hunt for our dinner ourselves, it can be a bit impracticable in the city.  Instead we head to Oyama Sausage for our game meats where there is plenty of wonderful products like Elk Sausage, Bison Sausage, Duck Sausage, Venison Sausage, Wild Boar Terrine, Wild Boar Headcheese, Venison Paté, Duck Patés, assorted game salamis, prosciuttos and more. There’s even a Swedish Ham Tasting  on Saturday the 7th . If you like what you try (and you will), order your Swedish Ham for the main holiday feast.
