The long Spring and cooler Fall temperatures made this a challenging year for growing grapes. With proper fruit management and crop thinning at just the right time—we were delighted with the quality of our fruit.
The grapes from our Dirty Dozen vineyard have produced some incredible wines this year, including; a white Rhone Blend, Petit Syrah, Tempranillo, Grenache/Mourvedre blend, and a Port Style wine made from our Zinfandel grapes.
Following a long harvest, mother nature cooperated and on November 22nd the temperatures dropped to –14° which enabled us to pick our Icewine grapes. This is the second earliest picking date in the history of Icewine, with November 5th, 2003 being the record for the earliest Icewine harvest.
This is our 4th vintage producing Icewine. In additional to our award winning 5 blend Icewine, new this year will be Cabernet Sauvignon Icewine and a Cabernet Franc Icewine.
