Those familiar with Main Street know there’s a ton of sushi spots to choose from, but not all are created equal. Recently we ventured into Ryu Sushi and sampled some of their creations.

When we called to book the table there was some difficulty getting the time slot we wanted, as we were told they were too busy for the time we wanted, but we went in as a walk in and there were only two other tables. On the second visit, however, we were welcomed as though we were old friends, and I thought perhaps there was a bit of a language barrier initially, and will definitely be back, reservation or not.

We sampled some gyoza. The was a bit thick for my liking, and I like them more browned, but the pork stuffing was tasty.

Sushi rolls are the way to go here. We’ve tried the Green Dragon Roll, Firecracker Roll and Dynamite topped with salmon.

The deep fried tuna is coated in seaweed and the fish is super fresh. The fried rolls never greasy and the portions and provide good value.

I always switch the salmon to wild salmon and like to wash my sushi down with a nice cold Asahi or Kirin, and I suggest you to the same.
