“ShwāyShwāy Café is popping-up at The Chinatown Experiment on 434 Columbia St. this week on May 3, 4, and 5. The pop-up is organized by Yash who is also behind Yummus, the new family of locally made hummus with popular flavours such as Smoked and Moroccan Spice. He has partnered with Genevieve from Sunday Morning Ice Cream who will be making a special flavour just for this pop-up and Maya from Sugo Sauce who will have her infused olive oils at the lunch and dinner tables. They will be open from 11am – 6pm for lunch, iced teas, ice cream, and pantry/freezer shopping. There will also be three long-table family style dinners each night including a Yummus & infused olive oil tastings, eastern mezze plates, Moroccan tagines, dessert, and a cocktail. Tickets are priced within reach at $30 and available here. We’ve heard rumours that there will be hookah too!”
A phrase often heard in the Near-East, ShwāyShwāy means slow it down.
This family style long-table dinner encourages diners to fully imerse themselves in a cultural experience, sharing fresh food and good conversation at a relaxed pace.
