Smiley’s Public House reopens under Donnelly Hospitality

smileysDowntown pub Smiley’s has reopened as Smiley’s Public House, thanks to the expertise of Donnelly Hospitality Management, the company behind Vancouver’s hottest nightclubs and pubs.

A favourite haunt of the business set for over 20 years, the space has been given a sleek makeover that has drawn both thankful regulars and new clientele. Smiley’s Public House delivers the style of a modern, British-style pub while retaining the warmth and character of a traditional pub. The open-concept room boasts 240 seats and a range of table sizes, including 16-seat picnic tables. Guests come in to loosen their ties, tuck into modern pub food, watch a football match and engage in good-natured banter around the pool table. The dance floor brims on busier nights, and a DJ spins to the after-work crowd on Fridays.

The Donnelly Pub Group prides itself on attention to detail, from an extensive craft-beer selection and custom, handcrafted cocktails, to selecting the perfect sound experience for each of its modern pubs. Smiley’s Public House is open from 11am until late every day (open at 10am on NFL Sundays) and is located at 911 W. Pender Street in downtown Vancouver.

Should never have changed ownership. Not the same anymore. Tryng to get a younger crowd in a place that’s surrounded by business folk. Bar is not run the same at all. Kris should be in charge, not that blode. New owners are not very friendly to partrons and lots of the previous girls are missed. Kinda hope it flops.

    Doesn’t matter,

I was in charge and the owners are far better than the last. I don’t know if I know you, but this change was for the best. More organized, more attention to detail, more everything. The new owners care which is the big difference. Plus, the Olympics rocked here and I would really doubt it would’ve been as enjoyable without out the new management. Cheers and live in the now.
