Snow Cap Enterprises Ltd. is coming forward to help workers in BC’s struggling hospitality industry during this extraordinary time. Throughout April, the company will donate 25 cents from each bag of flour sold in BC. The funds raised will be split between the BC Hospitality Foundation (BCHF) and the Vancouver Food and Beverage Community Relief Fund (VanFBC).

Snow Cap is one of BC’s leading distributors in the bakery and food supply sector, specializing in bakery and pastry ingredients and products. The company is family-owned and has over 150 employees in this province.

Proprietor Linda Seiffert says she felt moved to support the two charities because she sees the need for both short and long-term strategies. “The Vancouver Food and Beverage Community Relief Fund is helping to address the critical need for immediate assistance for people such as restaurant servers and hotel staff who can’t meet their basic needs right now. But we’ve also been a long-time supporter of the BCHF, and we want to help make sure the charity still around even after the current crisis is over, as they also provide essential support to hospitality workers facing big challenges.”

Taylor Chobotiuk, Tacofino’s Head of People and Engagement, commented on behalf of the VanFBC. “We’re very thankful for the support and donations we’re receiving from companies both large and small. It’s amazing to see how the local community is pulling together to help workers in the Lower Mainland.”

The donation program applies retroactively to every bag of flour sold in April, including all sizes.
