This Belgian-style dark ale is made with Crystal, Pilsner and Munich malts. A very clean beer with aromas of caramel, malt and rye bread, cocoa and espresso. On the palate the beer is balanced, a touch sweet, but not cloyingly so, with some caramel, malt, and coffee notes and a nutty finish. Pairs well with braised short ribs. Try these coffee-braised short ribs with ancho chile. I’ve made them twice and they were much loved.
