T.G.I.M. Margarita Mondays are back at Earls

IMG_7251If you look outside Vancouver today (August 18) the weather does not scream hit the patio, but I’ll guarantee that there will be some sunny days ahead.

Since I happen to be a big fan of margaritas, and tacos, when Earls announced it would be squeezing fresh limes and serving them up with a splash of Il Jimador tequila in their signature Margaritas each Monday (until September 9), we headed down to Fir and Broadway for a little snack.

As a bonus they mash guacamole table-side, but you have to remember to ask as it’s not on the menu, which is a shame as we almost forgot and it is delish!

There’s also good summer salads such as the  Santa Fe Chicken Salad with avocado, black beans, corn, greens, Cajun spiced chicken, the Champagne Berry + Spinach Salad, with berries, avocado, goat cheese, red onions, grilled chicken and the Dungeness Crab + Prawn Salad.

We sampled some  flavourful fruit and avocado fish tacos, impeccably fresh with perfectly cooked fish (the variety alternates) and ordered the guacamole once we’d remembered after spying another table with the treat.  The Santa Fe Chicken Salad was a tad dry but the flavours were there; it just needed a minute less on the grill.

Loved the margaritas and had to have two, um, doubles and Michael ordered up the Bull Dog, an insane margarita with a corona added, which is worth trying as a novelty, but probably not something that we’ll be back for.

Great service and with tacos, tequila shots, Coronas and margs at $5, it could be a cheap night.
