Published on Main, AnnaLena, and Whistler’s Wild Blue earn coveted spots as British Columbia continues to cement its reputation as one of North America’s top dining destinations.

British Columbia’s dining scene has earned another major international spotlight. Three local restaurants have been named to the newly released North America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 list, with Vancouver’s Published on Main ranking No. 17, AnnaLena landing at No. 35, and Whistler’s Wild Blue Restaurant + Cocktail Bar debuting at No. 47.

The rankings were unveiled during a ceremony in New Orleans on May 28 and recognize the most memorable dining experiences across Canada, the United States, and parts of the Caribbean. For British Columbia, the results reinforce the province’s growing reputation as one of North America’s premier culinary destinations.

Unlike traditional restaurant guides, the list is compiled from the votes of 300 anonymous industry experts, including chefs, restaurateurs, food writers, and experienced diners. That makes inclusion on the list not just a public-facing accolade, but a strong vote of confidence from within the hospitality industry itself.

Canada Makes a Strong Showing

Canadian restaurants performed exceptionally well overall, with four restaurants landing in the Top 10.

  • No. 2 Eight — Calgary
  • No. 3 Restaurant Pearl Morissette — Jordan Station, Ontario
  • No. 5 Mon Lapin — Montreal
  • No. 9 Tanière3 — Quebec City

The strong Canadian representation highlights the country’s growing influence on the North American dining landscape and reinforces its reputation as a destination for world-class culinary experiences.

Published on Main Leads the B.C. Pack

Coming in at No. 17, Published on Main continues its remarkable rise as one of Canada’s most celebrated restaurants.

Since opening in late 2019, the Michelin-starred Main Street restaurant has built its reputation around showcasing British Columbia’s farmers, fishers, foragers, and producers through a menu that balances Canadian identity with global influences.

Led by executive chef Gus Stieffenhofer-Brandson and his team, Published on Main has become a must-visit destination for food lovers travelling to Vancouver. The restaurant was previously named Canada’s Best Restaurant in 2022 and continues to collect accolades both nationally and internationally.

This year’s No. 17 ranking makes it the highest-ranked restaurant in British Columbia on the list.

AnnaLena Continues a Banner Year

Vancouver’s AnnaLena earned another major accolade by debuting at No. 35.

The Kitsilano restaurant has enjoyed an extraordinary run over the past several years, retaining its Michelin star while recently earning the title of highest-ranked B.C. restaurant on Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants 2026 list at No. 12.

Chef-owner Mike Robbins and business partner Jeff Parr opened AnnaLena in 2015, naming it after Robbins’ grandmothers. What began as a neighbourhood restaurant has evolved into one of the country’s premier dining destinations, known for playful creativity, technical precision, and a distinctly West Coast perspective.

The restaurant recently underwent renovations that brought guests closer to the action, creating a more intimate dining experience while maintaining the inventive spirit that has become its hallmark.

Wild Blue Elevates Whistler’s Dining Scene

Whistler’s Wild Blue Restaurant + Cocktail Bar made its debut on the list at No. 47, an impressive achievement for a restaurant that opened just four years ago.

Led by partners Neil Henderson and acclaimed chef Alex Chen, Wild Blue has helped redefine expectations of mountain dining. The restaurant’s Pacific Northwest-inspired menu, exceptional wine program, premium seafood offerings, and polished hospitality have made it one of the resort town’s most sought-after reservations.

The recognition places Whistler firmly on the culinary map alongside some of North America’s most celebrated dining destinations and provides yet another reason for food lovers to plan a mountain getaway.

What This Means for British Columbia

The recognition of three restaurants across two destinations speaks to the depth and diversity of British Columbia’s food scene.

From the ingredient-driven innovation of Published on Main and AnnaLena in Vancouver to the elevated mountain dining experience at Wild Blue in Whistler, B.C. continues to produce restaurants that can compete with the very best in North America.

For local diners, it is validation of what many already know. For visitors, it is another compelling reason to book a table and discover why British Columbia has become one of the continent’s most exciting places to eat.
