From March 7-28, 2013 Vancouver Foodster is running a cheesecake challenge with twelve separate restaurants participating. Go out and order the cheesecakes in this challenge, then you decide who has the best cheesecake creation.
We were invited to try three and headed to the Gramercy Grill, Salontea and Santori Factory.
Gramercy Grill Strawberry Cheese Cake – Baked Strawberry Cream Cheese Cake with Graham Wafer Crust
Salontea Vanilla Chai tea-infused cheesecake – flourless brownie and hazelnut base, with a hint of orange zest. Topped with Salontea Dancer tea-poached fresh blueberries. Gluten free.
Satori Factory Vanilla Bean Apple Pie Cheesecake
Crust: Almonds, garbanzo flour, tapioca flour, potato starch, sorghum flour, fava flour, sugar, butter, free range egg, organic sugar, cinnamon, salt
Filling: cream cheese, goat cheese, vanilla bean, cream, sour cream, free range eggs, corn starch, organic sugar
Topping: organic green apples, organic sugar, ginger cinnamon crisp garnish: corn starch, fava flour, garbanzo flour, tapioca flour, potato starch, sorghum flour, organic sugar, canola oil, ginger, cinnamon, salt
Of the three I tried the Satori Factory was the most original and had a nice dense texture a mild apple pie flavour. Must try more from this great spot. Some of there other baked goods below.
