Vancouverites Celebrate Chilean Wine Fall Festival September 28!
Wines of Chile is putting a new spin on its fall festival wine tasting event in Vancouver. Wishing to add an exciting food component to the tasting, Wines of Chile introduces a new format to celebrate the pairing of Chilean wine and food with a part festival-style, part casual winemaker’s dinner event.
The wine reception is at the Sutton Place Hotel on Burrard Street in Vancouver, and is followed by 14 winemaker dinners taking place at some of Vancouver’s finest restaurants. Guests are encouraged to relax and enjoy the evening responsibly. They should taxi or transit to the Sutton Place Hotel, take the complimentary shuttle or walk to their selected restaurant for dinner, and then taxi or transit home. The reception tasting, one-way transfer by shuttle to the restaurant, and the dinner, tax and gratuity are all included in the price of each ticket (with prices ranging from $89 to $129 based on the restaurant selected).
$20 from each ticket sold goes to support Wines of Chile’s partner charities: Grapes for Humanity Canada (www.grapesforhumanity.com) and the BC Hospitality Foundation (www.bchospitalityfoundation.com)

Vancouverites will taste their way around the ballroom with 30 visiting wineries each featuring their latest releases. The wine reception will be a chance to visit all the wineries in one location.
Winemaker Dinners
A select group of restaurants located within close proximity to the hotel is participating, and partnered with two or three of the participating wineries. A family style meal will be offered to complement the wines. Wine lovers can choose their favourite restaurant and winery pairing and enjoy an evening of delicious wines and food hosted by the visiting winery principals. The following restaurants are participating Aqua Riva, Blue Water Cafe + Raw Bar, Chambar, CinCin, Coast Restaurant, Cobré Nuevo Latino, Diva @ the Met, Elixir Bistro, Goldfish Pacific Kitchen, Joey’s, La Terrazza Restaurant, O’Doul’s Restaurant & Bar, Terminal City Club, and The Shore Club.
“For the first year with this tasting/dinner format, and the first time trying something like this in the city, we are thrilled,” says Julian Scholefield of Coletta & Associates, who oversee Wines of Chile activities for Western Canada. “Some of the city’s top restaurants are involved,” he continues. “And the value of each dinner is incredible. To attend a large scale tasting like this AND have dinner is unheard of! Also,” he enthuses, “these dinners will be intimate; a great way for people to talk to the winemakers up close. There are only 20 to 40 tickets available at each restaurant. I expect tickets will go very quickly!”
Tickets go on sale September 1. For full details on the wineries, the wines, and dinner, visit www.ccltd.ca/winesofchile.
