The St. Regis Hotel is proud to introduce its new “Just The Most Perfect Massage” program offering expert on-site massage in a newly built private studio suite. Superb, spa-quality massage services will be available for guests and drop-in clients starting October 18 with special introductory rates in effect until January 1, 2010.

The massage program is led by staff therapist Mishal Rijal who is trained and certified in four distinct styles of massage: Traditional Thai, Polynesian (Balinese), Swedish and Deep Tissue. At the heart of Mishal’s approach to massage is a deep empathy and desire for healing. He will work with each client to identify the best massage treatment for their needs, whether it’s a gentle release of daily stress, recovery from hard exertion, or relieving pain from chronic conditions.

Born in Nepal, Mishal was drawn to the field of healing and therapy through massage. When he left Nepal to live in Dubai, he immediately began laying the groundwork of education and training needed to develop his own unique approach to massage.

After training in Thailand and Dubai, Mishal had long-term employment offers from some of the finest resorts and spas in Dubai, but he decided to pursue his dream of moving to Canada. While working through the immigration process, he took a one-year contract to work in the spa at the elite Radisson SAS Dubai. In a short time, he built a loyal following including several members of Royal Families in Europe and Asia and when he left, he took with him letters of thanks and commendation from clients along with a medal of achievement for his contribution to the Spa at the Radisson SAS.

With immigration papers in hand, Mishal moved to Montreal and opened up his own clinic having been certified in massage therapy by the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada. After five successful years of practice, homesickness pulled him back to Dubai for an extended visit and upon returning to Canada, he chose Vancouver as his destination where he has now joined the staff of the St. Regis Hotel.
