Water Street Cafe is open for dining in with lots of space and safety protocols, and plenty of seats on their regular and special addition patio. Until July 13th they’re featuring lobster many ways (menu here) along with their regular menu. Check out the Second Floor for live music and additional dining space.
Whether you prefer lobster steamed, grilled, boiled or sautéed, fresh Atlantic lobster is a treat and at Water Street Cafe they’ve got a variety of menu items to give you lobster your way.
My friend Nanci and I ventured in and enjoyed some wonderful Black Hills Viognier along with a few of their lobster dishes.
BEEF CARPACCIO because you can’t just eat lobster, right?
LOBSTER & AVOCADO ($17.75) Poached lobster, avocado bell peppers, heirloom tomato, salsa verde, and a white balsamic glaze served with homemade taro chips. This dish was so colourful and full of flavour. The tomatoes were juicy and there was a generous portion of lobster tucked in among the veggies and avocado.
LOBSTER PAPPARDELLE ($38.75) Butter poached 1/2 lobster, baby tomato tucked in behind, and fennel, atop pappardelle in a white wine dill cream sauce.
SURF & TURF ($48.75) Butter poached 1/2 lobster, sous vide PEI short rib, potatoes and hoisin jus. Nice to see something different with the short rib instead of typical steak.
There’s also Lobster Bisque, Lobster Orecchiette and cheese, a mixed grill, waldorf salad and a lobster benny and egg white scramble for brunch. Make a reservation and get down to Gastown for some lobster.
