We Did Liquid Yoga at The Westin Bayshore and Stayed Dry
H2 Restaurant + Bar opened recently at The Westin Bayshore and I have yet to try their highly acclaimed roast chicken or steak, but I did have a great brunch there the other day and would highly recommend the patio for summer drinks. However, today we returned for a little something other than just food, liquid yoga on mats on the pool.
This is not your regular yoga, although the moves are definitely from the practice, as while you are going through the flow, you are atop a mat that is floating in their pool. I was thinking I’d actually likely bail, as I couldn’t even manage to maneuver a lifesaver successfully at Aquatica Water Park last week, but I managed to get through reasonably dry and loved it!
The class was led by Kristy Wright Schell and I’d consider it pretty slow-moving, which was likely why I managed to stay afloat! The moves engage muscles you may not have used for a while as you struggle maintain your balance on the mat. Sounds of seabirds and the occasional sea plane enhance the 60 minute experience.
Classes are $30 and take place on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, (with more to be added) from 8 to 9 am. There are six spots available per class. Reservations can be booked online, here.
I’d recommend stopping in for the breakfast buffet afterwards, because it’s pretty amazing, and there’s even dim sum!
There’s also the H2Oasis Summer Pool Experience available for visitors. This includes a welcome gift including lip balm, sunscreen lotion, sunglasses, and more and a day by the outside pool with a reserved chaise lounge, access to changing cabanas, a $25 food and drink credit for H20’s pool menu, refreshing edible treats throughout your visit, and cooling face towels. The day rate is $125, and is based on availability. Reservations for that can be made by calling 604.682.3377.
