What’s Good March 28+

Hawkers MarketYou won’t go hungry this weekend my food loving friends as there’s a huge range of food-centric events that will satiate even the most enormous of appetites.

From Friday March 28th  Sunday 31st Boudin Noir and Morcilla are on the menu at Oyama Sausage in Granville Island.  Both are speciality blood sausages, delicious grilled or simmered and served up with a side of spuds and greens.

While there why not venture into Granville Island Brewery for some samples and pick up their latest addition to Brewmaster’s Vern’s Black Notebook series, Shamrocker Potato Stout. This dry Irish-style stout has tones of coffee, malts, barley and a hint of caramel.

Saturday a.m. you’ll want to throw on your rain gear and get down to the Vancouver Winter Farmers Market. Looks like the fiddle heads and first of the asparagus could be on your dinner plate along with farm fresh eggs and the other usual suspects.

Saturday night at 870 East Cordova, the Hawkers Market celebrates one year starting at 6 pm and running until “late”. Do it yourself donut bar from Electric Jelly Donuts, 05 Tea’s Kombucha, beer from 33 acres beer and a culinary photo booth are just a few of the delicious items on the menu.

Night markets seem to be the theme this weekend as The Tuck Shop also has a pop up at 648 Kingsway at The Toast Collective. Everything is handmade here from hot sauce to soap.
