Township 7 Winery & Pacific Assistance Dogs Society Launch “Savour & Support” Campaign in BC

Making a pawsitive impact for people with disabilities

Township 7 Vineyards & Winery is excited to partner with the Pacific Assistance Dogs Society in a fundraising campaign this fall.  The winery is donating .25¢ for every bottle of Township 7 Chardonnay, Merlot or Sauvignon Blanc sold the month of October at BC government wine stores.  In addition, Township 7 has teamed up with Blue Water Café for an inspiring and delectable charity dinner with all profits to PADS. For a quarter of a century, PADS dogs have changed lives. More than beautiful, healthy companions, they are specially trained to aid people. The non-profit Society trains assistance dogs for people with disabilities and supports their client/dog teams for the working life of the PADS’ dog.

Meet the friendly and hardworking dogs with PADS. Join us for a night of outstanding cuisine and wine at Blue Water Cafe + Raw Bar paired with Township 7’s small lot, handcrafted wine from the Okanagan’s most spectacular wine region, the Naramata Bench.  Township 7′s proprietors will entertain guests while they indulge in executive chef Frank Pabst’s delicious wine/food pairings in Yaletown’s definitive dining destination.  Hear from PADS on their 25th anniversary on how their adorable service dogs give people with disabilities a new leash on life, while enjoying a taste of uniquely BC wines and extraordinary food.

Wine enthusiasts can enter to win tickets for two at this intimate multi-course experience by emailing info@township7.com from October 1-31, 2012 with “Savour & Support PADS contest” in the title and include their name, address, phone number and email address.  More details are at www.township7.com/PADS.

“We’re very honoured to partner with such a worthy local charity who assists those in need in our community in such a direct and meaningful way,” said Mike Raffan, proprietor Township 7 Winery. “As Retriever owners ourselves, we love the loyalty, intelligence and joy that our dog brings to our lives and understand the life changing value they must bring to their assisted clients.  We’re delighted to work with PADS again in their 25th year and wish them continued success with bringing an improved quality of life to so many in our communities.”

“PADS mission is to breed, raise, train and place assistance dogs for people with disabilities along with providing lifetime support to the working team,” said Laura Watamanuk, PADS Executive Director. “We currently have 77 working teams in the community along with over 40 puppies in training to meet the ever growing list of applicants.  PADS is funded completely by donations so we are very excited and thankful for our partnership with Township 7 Winery.  Their support enables PADS to change lives, one dog at a time.”
