“Operation: Full Kettle” – a food tasting event to benefit the Salvation Army on Dec 20 – only $30

on

Please join us on Thursday, December 20th 2012 at District 319 from 7:00pm 10:00pm for Operation: Full Kettle, a food tasting fundraiser. Come celebrate  the generosity of our community by treating yourself to a night of fun, food, and
drinks. Discover a new ethnic cuisine and tickle your palates by the wonderful  flavors of the world. To showcase the culinary talent Vancouver has to offer, we  will be featuring some of the city’s trendiest restaurants, accompanied with a  full bar, prize giveaways, and DJ Mikxter.

Today, Vancouver Downtown Eastside has been named ‘the poorest large urban area code in Canada.’ To raise awareness to the growing income disparity within our city, single-mom guest-speaker, Tracy Edwards, will share how she has been personally touched by services offered by the Salvation Army. Together, we can raise proceeds to continually fund these services that Salvation Army Community and Family Services offers for low-income families.  Let us unite to ‘fill’ their infamous kettle and give them a Christmas that they will never forget.

For just $30 (advance), here’s the participating restaurants and a list of their offerings:
