New Local Focused Cafe Lot185 Cafe + Wine Bar
From the Press Release: LOT185 Café + Wine Bar opened in the Vancouver Convention Centre recently. Overlooking Jack Poole Plaza, this new space will embrace the modern aesthetic of the Convention Centre while offering a casual dining experience for both visitors and Vancouverites.
Inspired by the laid-back atmosphere of European cafes, and tapas and wine bars, the menu at LOT185 will focus on sourcing local ingredients while embracing the diverse landscape of British Columbia. An in-house bakery, overseen by Executive Pastry Chef Maurizio Persichino, will provide fresh baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, and other grab and go items during the day. Tapas and Neapolitan–style pizzas will be featured in the afternoon and evenings with a menu crafted by Executive Chef Mark Massicotte that reflects the multi-cultural flavours that can be found all around Vancouver. A BC forward wine and craft beer list, complemented by a selection of international wines, will be offered alongside a full coffee bar with ethically sourced beans from North Vancouver coffee roasters, Moja Coffee.
“We wanted to offer something that allowed us to showcase the incredible Convention Centre culinary team to the public in a more casual environment. We created a space to bring the five-star Convention Centre kitchen to locals while offering an alternative dining experience to our guests attending meetings and conventions at our facility,” says Craig Lehto, General Manager, Vancouver Convention Centre.
Extending over two levels, this beautiful space for 80 people was reimagined by the team at HCMA Architecture + Design to reflect the beautiful coastline on which it sits and embrace the natural aesthetic already reflected in the Convention Centre. As the world’s first double LEED Platinum certified Convention Centre, it was important that LOT185 reflects those environmental designs but also provide a welcoming and modern space.
LOT185 Café + Wine Bar will operate both in tandem and independently from the Convention Centre with its own entrance off of Jack Poole Plaza as well as entry points from inside the facility. The hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 7:00 am – 9:00 pm, Saturday from 8:00 am – 9:00 pm, closed Sundays.
