Meaty Festival Takes Over The Cascade Room
The Barbarian’s Feast at The Cascade Room, Sunday September 23rd 6pm
Dictionaries define barbarians as uncivilized, primitive and wild. But to the less rigid, more convivial folks at The Cascade Room, hosting the 2nd annual. Barbarian’s Feast on September 23rd means they want to unleash your primal appetites and re-whet your giant appetite for life.
The evening will be devoted to robust feasting and drinking. Legendary whiskies, Old Forester, Woodford Reserve and Jack Daniel’s will be in full display as you will get to indulge in generous samples of some of America’s finest brown spirits. Sip, savour and learn with the Cascade Bar Team and the fine people of Brown-Forman Spirits as we guide you through the American Whiskey Trail. Park your virtuous, sensible self at home and let your rambunctious side out for this special event.
The dinner, presented buffet-style in the age-old tradition of the groaning board, will feature a 120 lb. whole roasted pig from Gelderman Farms in Abbotsford, in addition to irresistible offerings from Two Rivers Specialty Meats, including sausages, roast beef, turkey wings, game hens, and pork ribs. Barbarians cannot live by meat alone — try as they might — so satisfying sides will be served up as well, including potato salad, luscious greens and grilled corn on the cob. Reserve a tiny corner of your bad barbarian self for dessert – fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies.
In addition to the whiskey tastings, libations will include specially infused whiskey ales by Main Street Brewings Brew Master, Jack Bensley. Not to be outdone, the creative Cascade Room bar team has a plethora of special whiskey cocktails for the event, bound to set you on the right path to pure bliss!
Adding to the evening, local musician Matt Beebe will keep the night rockin’ with his unique and creative twists on legendary songs from today and yesteryear!.
