Reducing eye strain with blue light with Clearly BlueReflect Glasses
Don’t know about you these days, but it seems I’m ever on my computer, or on my phone or half asleep in front of the TV. Statistics say most adults spend six hours a day in front of a screen, but I’d say they’ve low balled that one. I’ve felt this impact my health on many levels, I try to get up and stretch and head to the chiropractor every so often to conquer back pain, and head out for a quick walk to clear my mind and stay fresh. I didn’t really think much about combating eye strain, although I’ve felt it and had my fair share of headaches, but when I was ordering my latest pair of glasses, I was asked if I wanted Blue Light glasses, the Clearly BlueReflect version.
Apparently, there’s blue light everywhere, from the sun, indoor lighting, and from computer, phone, and TV screens. With blue light glasses, like Clearly BlueReflect Lenses you can protect your eyes, resulting in less eye stain, fewer headaches and reduce risk of damage to the retina that causes macular degeneration and lead to blindness. You’ll also sleep better when this light is blocked, as blue light decreases your body’s ability to produce sleep-inducing hormones.
The glasses I have are stylish (Kam Dhillon Sonta in black) and there are so many to choose from and the cool part is for every pair of Clearly glasses purchased, they donate a pair to someone in need. They’ve impacted 42 countries around the world and donated more than 470,000 pairs of glasses. They also give children ten and under a free pair of kids’ glasses. I’ve written more about both those programs here.
I may not be able to get away from my screen, but I’m trying to factor in more offline time, and at least now, I’m reducing the blue light I’m exposed to.
