Our resident mixologist, Graham Racich, brings the ‘locavore’ philosophy to the bar every time he creates a new menu. Seasonal stone fruits from the Okanagan play centre stage in his infused syrups, fresh made juices, and inspiring garnishes. In the Rosey Pomme apples from the Okanagan are infused with rose petals to make a delicate syrup that has been paired with rum and chilled camomile tea. The Plum Blossom marries the familiar flavours of the humble plum with the exotic notes in Junmai Sake to create a study of east-meets-west flavours. There is a playful surprise in his pumpkin infused bourbon for the Bourbon Patch that at first you may be sceptical about, but the melding of the smokey spirit and sweet squash with his hickory smoked orange syrup begs you to sip it again…and what a flash of colour! Our Sunday Night Dinners are a hit and we are thrilled you are enjoying bringing your family to our family to be pampered each week. The month of November will feature Traditional Roast Beef every Sunday until the 28th when we have a fun Spanish themed evening planned. We have just received a special order of select wines from the Castilla La Mancha region of Spain that we have added to our wine list and what better way to show them off than with traditional Spanish dishes. The meal will start off with a shared selection of tapas like chorizo and grilled octopus. The main course of traditional Paella with fresh BC seafood will be a feast and the parents can finish off with delicious Manchego cheese from the Castilla La Mancha region….Kids can enjoy traditional Spanish sweets.

COCKTAIL COMPETITION:
Graham Racich is guest starring at an upcoming Cocktail Kitchen at the Refinery on Granville Street on November 17th. It’s a really cool concept where a regional food menu is written in advance (the West Indies) and a spirit from that region is chosen as the main ingredient. Graham has to create a cocktail for each course that showcases that ingredient, Havana Club 7 Year Rum in this case. He will then be judged on those pairings and his scores are compared with other mixologists that competed in November. The winning bartender is invited back for an encore. Good luck Graham!
