PAN PACIFIC VANCOUVER CHRISTMAS WISH BREAKFAST NOVEMBER 30

Twenty-third Annual Event Will Draw Thousands To Breakfast Toy Drive With Global BC And JackFM

Vancouver, BC November 8, 2010 – The Pan Pacific Vancouver Christmas Wish Breakfast and partners Global BC and JackFM are back for another epic toy drive benefiting the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau Tuesday, November 30, 2010.  For the past 23 years, Vancouverites have began their holiday season with amazing generosity by bringing an unwrapped toy in exchange for a festive breakfast at the iconic downtown hotel between 6-9 a.m.

“The Pan Pacific Vancouver Christmas Wish Breakfast kicks off the holiday season in our city,” says Tim Tindle, Pan Pacific Vancouver General Manager. “The outpouring of generosity is astonishing and our entire team is always so thrilled to host the thousands of generous people that pour through our doors.  Sharing the energy and excitement of giving during the holiday season is the best way to get into the festive spirit of Christmas.”

Live broadcasts from the hotel with Global BC, JackFM, FunFM and News 1130, plus live entertainment, add to the morning’s festivities. The Pan Pacific Vancouver Christmas Wish Breakfast is the largest toy drive in the lower mainland with over 7,000 people taking part in the event last year. That translates into more than 26,000 toys and over $25,000 cash for the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau.

“I have been doing this for 12 years and I can say that every year the need grows,” says Chris Bayliss, executive director of the Lower Mainland Christmas Wish Bureau. “We have already started stocking our bureaus throughout Metro Vancouver and by the time the first week of December hits we will have sent out over 50,000 toys. The Pan Pacific Vancouver Christmas Wish Breakfast is our largest toy drive of the year and the generosity of Vancouver at this time is what ensures we can continue to help everyone, especially the kids, have a good holiday season.”

Free parking for all attendees will be provided by Vinci in the underground parking of Canada Place and a fresh, hot breakfast in the Cafe Pacifica will be on offer in exchange for an unwrapped toy or cash donation.  Cash donations will also be accepted at www.lmcb.ca.
