TASTING NOTES

Tavel Beaurevoir Rose: Tawny with salmon highlights.  A beautiful dry Rose made from Grenache. Ripe fruits, apricot and Morello cherry aromas. Rounded, mellow, well-balanced and harmonious, with red fruits such as cherry. A touch of liquorice at the end.

Mirabel Coteaux de l’Ardeche Viognier: Yellow green, quite brilliant. Good intensity, fine aromas of acacia and violets. Medium body and plenty of honeyed tropical fruit and peach notes offered in a zesty, fresh, unoaked style. Combination of roundness and freshness on the mouth.

Crozes-Hermitage Les Mersonniers:  Deep purple red.  Red fruit and blackcurrant dominate, followed by aromas of violet. Silky & mineral driven. Generous and round tasting with a finish of black cherry, stewed fruits and a hint of vanilla. Graceful finish.

Banyuls Rouge: Deep garnet to acacia depending on the age.  Aromas of dried fruits, red fruits, and cocoa, roasted coffee appearing with time.  Very powerful, long length on the mouth. Fruits and chocolate are the major aromas of this very long ageing wine.

DOMAINE NOTES

The name CHAPOUTIER has been present in the Rhône Valley since 1808. In 1879, the distant ancestor Polydor CHAPOUTIER was the first to buy vines, thus moving from the status of wine-grower to that of a viticulturist, a wine producer and a businessman. The pioneering spirit was already present in the family. Seven generations later, we find Michel, with a real passion for the expression of soils, at the head of this exceptional vineyard firmly anchored in history and traditions. This young, determined man, opting for breakaway solutions, combines the past with daring and creativity.
