The Chef’s Table Society of British Columbia has released a new cookbook featuring 70 chefs throughout the province. Vancouver Cooks 2 serves as a follow-up to the Society’s first successful book and includes a handful of recipes from nu restaurant + lounge Executive Chef, Robert Clark. To celebrate, nu restaurant + lounge has created a Vancouver Cooks 2 tasting menu which will run from September 15th to October 31st, 2009. Inspired by the recipes in the book along with both the Kent Country and Pemberton Valley bounty, the menu will feature farm to table cuisine like: Pemberton Meadows beef, Helmers potatoes, North Arm Farm fresh vegetables and wild blackberries, hand-picked this summer by the team at nu. The 4-course menu (including wines) is priced at $70 and includes a copy of Vancouver Cooks 2.
Of course you can also purchase the book on its own for $40 but what’s the culinary fun in that?
Falling Leaves and Falling Prices – nu restaurant + lounge is getting ready for fall and part of their prep includes winding down their wine list prices. Every Sunday throughout September and October guests at nu can look forward to 50 per cent discount on any bottle priced over $60. So why not spend a Sunday afternoon at nu sipping Syrah for half the price?
A Sunday Tradition – The “Family Roast” is back at nu restaurant + lounge and it tastes better than ever. Every Sunday from October 4th through to the end of the year, nu will be serving family-style roasts. With a different feast each week, guests can look forward to classics like: prime rib, pork loin and of course, rack of lamb. Available for 2 or more people simply ask your server for details and be sure to order a half price bottle of wine to go with your dinner.
Canucks and Cocktails – Hockey season is back and nu restaurant + lounge is prepared to shoot and score. Chef de Cuisine, Peter Burt is beefing up the bar menu and pairing it with puck-worthy cocktails for a “Daniel and Henrik” double threat. Join us for pre-game action, including $4.00 Lighthouse Beer, on October 1st when we fire up the menu as well as the Flames.
