Bakery Showcase in-person trade event set for May 14-15

Canada’s premier baking industry conference and trade show, Bakery Showcase, presented by the Baking Association of Canada, will welcome the baking industry May 14-15, 2023, to the Vancouver Convention Centre for a full schedule of in-person learning and networking opportunities.

Bakery Showcase is the largest and only baking industry business-to-business trade show and conference produced in Canada.

Industry professionals from bakeries (retail, wholesale, commercial, in-store), grocery and foodservice outlets will be in attendance.

The trade show features more than 200 booths in about 100,000 square feet showcasing baked goods (fresh, proof-and-bake, par-baked, freezer-to-oven, thaw-and-serve) baking ingredients, equipment, packaging services and technology.

There’s an exciting lineup of inspirational speakers, education sessions and demonstrations, including:

  • Bruno Feldeisen, accomplished chef and judge on CBC’s Great Canadian Baking Show, will help judge our Mother’s Day Celebration Student Cake-Decorating Competition and sign copies of his book Baking With Bruno at the BAC booth.
  • An engaging keynote talk by Mark Dyck, creator and host of Rise Up! The Baker Podcast, and Bakers4Bakers.org in which you will learn techniques that will help you tell better stories about your bakery, and a panel of up-and-coming bakeries!
  • An exciting Mother’s Day Celebration Student Cake-Decorating Competition sponsored by Dawn Foods.
  • A powerhouse panel celebrating Women in Baking, sponsored by Ardent Mills, which includes Tracey Muzzolini of Christies Bakery in Saskatoon, Babette Kourelos of Babette’s Bread of Langley, B.C., and Mary Mackay of Terra Breads of Vancouver in conversation with Elaine O’Doherty of Ardent Mills Canada.
  • Sourdough in the Spotlight and a hands-on demonstration by technical experts, Sustainable Chocolate Solutions and sampling of Cacao-Trace by Sylvestre Awono – all sponsored by Puratos.
  • The exciting Canadian Pizza magazine Canadian Pizza Chef of the Year Competitions and Great Pizza Box Fold-Off.
  • Champion pizza chef and owner-operator Diana Cline and other top pizza chefs demonstrating techniques at the Canadian Pizza Summit stage.

Bruno feldeisen bakery showcase

 Background:

Bakery Showcase is set for May 14-15, 2023, in Vancouver at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The event will carry on the tradition of delivering an eye-opening expo with educational sessions for its attendees. The event is presented by the Baking Association of Canada. Media partner Bakers Journal will be in attendance moderating the educational program and overseeing baking and pizza demonstration stages.

In July 2021 the Baking Association of Canada partnered with Annex Business Media Inc., publisher of Bakers Journal, to manage Bakery Showcase. Canada’s largest baking trade industry expo, Bakery Showcase, as a multi-year agreement. We staged a successful Bakery Showcase under the partnership in Toronto in April 2022.
