Celebrate BC Blueberries Until August 7, 2022
July 15 was BC Blueberry Day, and we started the morning with a visit to a BC Blueberry farming family’s farm, CanWest Farms where we devoured BC Blueberries Scones and preserves from Dales Roadside Bakery! We then hopped on Zygg Electric Bikes for a ride through the agricultural lands of Richmond. I’m hooked on these bikes!
Electric bikes are so much fun. Pedal when you feel like it, turn the electricity on to speed it up, and whiz by your friends! Had to do the wiggle for Insta!
Lunch was from Well-Seasoned Gourmet Food Store, a Highbush BC Blueberries & Tarragon Gazpacho with Blueberry Spheres and House-made Savoury Herb Roll with Blueberry Compound Butter, a Wheat Berry Salad with local organic Greens, Watermelon Radish, fresh Peas, Milner Farms Chevre, sweet spiced Pepitas with a Blueberry Vinaigrette with Fraser Valley Duck Breast, cold smoked and sliced – served with a fresh BC Blueberries gastrique OR Vegetarian option: Cold smoked tofu, sliced.
Dessert was a delicious Blueberry Sour Cream Tart that I ate later that day as I was so darn full from lunch!
#GoBlueBC will run online until August 7, 2022.
