Betty and Jacky Hung have introduced new sundaes, affogatos, cakes and plated desserts at Beaucoup Creamery in Time Out Market Vancouver.
I love Beaucoup, so a new dessert menu from Betty and Jacky Hung is always going to get my attention. Their latest creations at Beaucoup Creamery in Time Out Market Vancouver take soft serve well beyond a simple cone, with everything from salted duck egg yolk custard to miniature slices of opera cake. And with the holidays approaching, I can’t wait to see what they have in store at the bakery, too.
The menu, announced October 26, expands the creamery’s 100 per cent Canadian sweet cream soft serve into an assortment of housemade custards, fruit compotes, crunchy toppings, ice cream sandwiches, affogatos and plated desserts. It brings the French pastry approach associated with Beaucoup Bakery to playful combinations of flavours, including salted egg yolk, pork floss, guava and lychee.

From soft serve to a full dessert bar
“Beaucoup Creamery’s new menu is what we would hope to find at a dessert bar growing up, but just more elevated,” says Betty Hung, who co-owns the business with Jacky. “We wanted to treat it the same way we treat our pastries, so every cone or sundae is topped with something made in our kitchen, whether that’s a vanilla custard, a guava compote, or a slice of opera cake.”
Several combinations reflect flavours the siblings grew up eating, particularly the meeting of sweet and savoury. The Oeuf d’Or ($13) layers soft serve with salted duck egg yolk custard sauce, pork floss and mochi pieces. La Goyave ($12) takes a brighter direction with guava compote, lychee gelée and lime sugar.
Other options lean into French pastry: the Flan Parisien ($13) includes vanilla custard, crispy butter biscuit, caramel and Maldon salt, while the Hazelnut Opera Sundae ($13) brings together hazelnut praline, chocolate sauce, a chocolate-coated coffee bean and a miniature slice of opera cake.

What else is on the Beaucoup Creamery menu?
The Mango Yuzu Sundae ($13) combines mango and sweet cream soft serve with yuzu curd, passion fruit crunch and a mini yuzu cake slice. Le Grand Croustillant Glacé ($14) is a housemade ice cream sandwich with blonde chocolate croustillant, feuilletine and sablé pieces.
For something simpler, sweet cream soft serve made with Canadian milk is $9 in a cone or cup, with an optional French butter or chocolate dip. A seasonal sorbet is also $9, and a children’s serving with sprinkles is $7.
Coffee and tea flavours get their own spotlight with espresso, matcha and Earl Grey affogatos ($8 each), plus a Matcha Sabayon ($10) featuring soft serve and cold matcha sabayon.
There are also desserts designed for a longer visit: Pear Vanilla Mochi Basque Slice ($11.99), Jasmine Pistachio Tiramisu ($12.99) and Oolong Peach Tiramisu ($12.99).
A build-your-own sundae option ($10) is planned for a future launch, with sauces and toppings expected to include guava coulis, hazelnut praline, mochi, pork floss and feuilletine. Its launch date has not yet been announced.

A new reason to linger at Time Out Market
“Time Out Market is a place where people come to try a little bit of everything, so we wanted a menu that works just as well for a quick treat, like a cone, or a sit-down experience with our desserts and affogatos,” says Jacky Hung.
The broader menu gives visitors another reason to stop at the Oakridge Park food hall for dessert, whether after lunch, dinner or a day of exploring the shops.
More new stops at Oakridge Park
There are a couple of other recent arrivals to work into an Oakridge visit. Kith Treats opened on October 23 alongside the brand’s new Vancouver flagship, bringing cereal-infused ice cream and customizable treats to the mall. Armani/Caffè is another new addition, with Italian coffee, pastries and savoury bites. Both are separate from Time Out Market, but make it tempting to turn a dessert stop into a longer afternoon at Oakridge.
